Dewy Make-up look

Today I wanted dewy skin for a change, I normally always where my make-up matte. I am super oily so if I don’t powder my make-up just slips down my face. Today I only powdered through the centre of my face very lightly (which felt very strange for me). And although I did get oily throughout the day it was nothing that a little powder couldn’t fit. The main reason I wore my make-up dewy today is because I wanted to try out the Sleek Highlighting palette.

I picked this highlighting palette up a couple of weeks ago, but only got around to having a play with it today. This is a beautiful palette from the packaging to the product inside. It has four colours, three cream and one powder colour. Sleek have three palettes to choose from, the one I have is Precious Metals. The packaging is metallic bronzed colour, it has a mirror and a little brush. The colours in the palette are creamy gold shades. The creams are super smooth the product just melts into your fingertips, these are best used with fingers, I tried a sponge and brush but in the end found the product was easier to use with my fingers. It’s also best to use on unpowdered skin, they don’t blend very well over powder. The powder is a beautiful subtle bronze, I used this over a gold cream shadow. The palette costs €12.49 from the Sleek website, Sleek can also be bought in Boots as well as loads of other pharmacy’s.

I planned my make-up around this palette today, I decided to try and achieve glowing skin without looking oily. I have very oily skin so that is easier said than done. I find it so hard to not over powder my face sometimes but today I was good and restrained myself. I would definitely carry a powder around with me though if I were going out and about.

My make-up was pretty simple today and easy to achieve as always I concentrated on my complexion and done very little with the eyes and lips.

I was testing a new foundation today so didn’t use a primer but I did apply the CHARLOTTE TILBURY WONDERGLOW all over my face apart from my under eyes. Using a damp sponge, I applied INGLOT HD FOUNDATION to my face and down my neck as the colour is a tiny bit too dark. With a flat concealer brush I applied the pink corrector and then the lightest concealer under my eyes FREEDOM HD CONCEAL & CORRECT palette, this didn’t give me as much coverage as I wanted so I went over it with the MAYBELLINE ERASER EYE CONCEALER, I blended the concealers with my fingers. Then came the SLEEK HIGHLIGHTING PALETTE, I mixed the shades Platinum and Royal Gold with my finger and applied to the top of my cheek bone around onto my brow bone, down the centre and tip of my nose, on my cupids bow and above my eyebrows. I used my sponge to lightly blend the highlight in. To set my foundation I used INGLOT HD POWDER through the centre of my face very lightly. I contoured using INGLOT HD SCULPTING POWDER and set my concealer with INGLOT HD HIGHLIGHTING POWDER. I used a blush from the REVOLUTION HOT SPICE blush palette. To intensify my highlight, I used THE BALM MARY-LOU MANIZER highlight to set all the cream highlight I applied around my face.

I used the MAYBELLINE COLOR TATTOO ETERNAL GOLD as a base on my eyelid, with my finger I applied the shadow from the SLEEK HIGHLIGHTING palette (Antique Bronze). With a tapered blending brush I applied Naked 2 from the URBAN DECAY BASICS palette in my crease and under my lower lash line just to add a little definition, I used a fluffy blending brush to blend. I applied two coats of the L’OREAL FALSE LASH SCULPT mascara to my top and bottom lashes. For my eyebrows I used a mixture of colours from the FREEDOM PRO HD BROW PALETTE.

I kept my lips very simple today I lined them with ESSENCE LIPLINER 11 IN THE NUDE and finished with REVLON LIP BUTTER 095 CRÈME BRULEE.

Thanks so much for reading my blog. I would love to hear what your favourite highlighting product is?
